Korean  Language  Conversation  Course - Autumn 2026

IMPORTANT: Mandatory Registration for 2026 New Students



Dear International Graduate Students,

The International Office hereby announces the Korean Language Conversation Course for the Autumn Semester of 2026.


All international graduate students admitted in 2026 who have not yet satisfied the Korean language graduation requirement MUST register for and complete this course.


Students who have already satisfied the graduation requirement by passing TOPIK Level 1 do not need to take the course, provided that they submit the relevant TOPIK certificate before applying for their thesis defence.





Korean Language Graduation Requirements


All international students participating in English Track programmes must fulfil one of the following requirements before graduation:


1. Pass TOPIK Level 1 and submit the certificate before applying for the thesis defence; or

2. Complete 100 hours of the Korean Language Conversation Course offered by the International Office and submit the Certificate of Completion.


Students who plan to apply for their thesis defence in March 2027 or later and have not yet fulfilled either requirement must register for the Korean Language Conversation Course.



Course Information

1. Course Period

  • During the Autumn Semester of 2026
  • Total: 100 hours

2. Registration Deadline

  • Monday, 24 August 2026, by 13:00

  • University of Ulsan students: Please complete the online application form only.
  • New students who started their studies in Spring 2026: Please enter your application number in the Student ID field.
  • Non-UOU students: The following additional documents are required:
    • Copy of Residence Card (Alien Registration Card)
    • Copy of passport
    • One colour ID photo (3 × 4 cm, white background)

4. Class Schedule

  • Every Tuesday and Thursday, 18:00–21:00
  • If the number of applicants is high, an additional Monday/Wednesday class may be opened. Therefore, the class schedule may be subject to change.

5. Curriculum

  • General Korean Language
  • Daily Conversation
  • TOPIK Level 1 preparation

6. Tuition Fee and Payment Deadline

  • Payment Deadline: Monday, 24 August 2026, by 17:00
  • Tuition Fee: KRW 560,000
  • Textbook fee is not included.
  • Bank: Kyongnam Bank
  • Account Number: 207-0115-1784-00

When transferring the tuition fee, please make the payment under your Student ID number or your name so that the payment can be identified.


7. Completion Criteria


To successfully complete the course, students must meet both of the following requirements:

  • Attendance rate of 80% or higher
  • Average examination score of 70 points or higher

Important Notice for 2026 New Students

If you are a 2026 new international graduate student and have not passed TOPIK Level 1, you are required to register for this Korean Language Conversation Course.


Please make sure to complete the application by 13:00 on 24 August 2026. Failure to register and complete the required Korean language qualification may affect your ability to meet the graduation requirements.


Please carefully check the registration and payment deadlines and complete all required procedures within the designated period.
